Our Charities

A Brush With Love is proud to support the following amazing charities:

StreetVet

StreetVet is founded and run by veterinary professionals, to deliver free vet care to the pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness. As well as keeping these pets healthy and happy, StreetVet works alongside other homeless support services to help their clients access essential services.

StreetVet know that the bond between homeless people and their pets can be profound - and that special bond between a person and pet can take on even more significance when life is hard!  However pet ownership when you are homeless can also be very complicated as it can create barriers to many essential support services, such as hostels, housing or even going into hospital! A primary aim of StreetVet is to protect the human animal bond and help keep their clients and pets together.

StreetVet launched their StreetVet Accredited Hostel Scheme in November 2020 to help increase the number of pet friendly homeless hostels in the UK, as currently only 10% of UK hostels accept pets.

For every purchase of our vet cards, including our sympathy cards, a Brush With Love donate 15% of our net profits to StreetVet (registered Charity No: 1181527).

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust

Myself and Sam are very conscious that all humans, our pets, and most other species owe their lives to bees and other pollinators, which enable the plants to grow to feed us all! So, a few years ago we started by adding beautiful bee-friendly wildflower seeds to our forget-me-not seed packs which, when grown, can provide bees with a much-needed food source.

Our research into wildflowers led us to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, a fabulous charity that runs amazing projects throughout the UK helping to conserve our very ecologically important (and gorgeous) bumblebees! The Bumblebee Conservation Trust monitors bumblebee populations and behaviors, works with farmers, landowners and communities to conserve, create and restore bee-friendly habitats, tests bee-steward models to inform future bee-friendly land management models, and creates all sorts of bumblebee-related learning resources.

Their work is going well and the trust is celebrating that all three rare bumblebee species have been recorded returning to areas where they had not been seen for up to 25 years!!

For every purchase of our bee-utiful commemorative wildflower seed gift packs, A Brush with Love donates 15% of our net profits to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (Registered Charity No. 1115634 & SCO42830).

New Woodlands

We love New Woodland's drive and ambition and we are so excited to add them to the charities we support.

We desperately need more trees and New Woodlands plan to do this ...creating new, permanently protected, non-commercial sustainable woodlands, right here in the UK.

Having more trees is one of the best ways we can fight climate change. Trees are amazing at capturing carbon from the atmosphere and they also help tackle the effects of climate change, helping to prevent flooding, lowering air temperature and keeping soils healthy, stable and full of nutrients.  Creating new woodland is one of the best ways to combat the climate emergency.

Ancient woodland is the UKs most important, complex and diverse woodland habitat, and takes hundreds of years to develop. New Woodlands aim to create woodland corridors between existing pockets of isolated ancient woodland areas, joining them up to ensure our wonderful UK creatures such as the endangered dormice, bats, birds, hedgehogs (and so many more) have larger, unfragmented areas that are essential for them to thrive.

There is increasing evidence that us humans need contact with nature to thrive as well, and visiting woodlands is an excellent way to restore both our mental and physical wellbeing, providing tranquility and welcome relief from our stressful lives. For this reason New Woodlands aim to make all their woodlands publically accessible for all.

For every purchase of our cards for care companies, A Brush With Love will donate 15% of our net profits to New Woodlands (registered Charity No:1186688)
